Hydropower Energy
Hydropower comes from moving water through either dams or waterfalls. The faster the water moves, the more energy it produces. Hydropower makes electricity by having the running water flow through a pipe and push the blades of a turbine to run a generator. This is a good way to harness that energy and make use of what we have. After all, water is going to flow on it's own, we might as well collect the energy from it.
Advantages to hydropower are that water will constantly go through the water cycle. This makes water a renewable resource and therefore hydropower a renewable energy source. Also, there is no air pollution involved in hydropower so it's safe for the environment.
Some disadvantages are that it requires a large flowing body of water which isn't found everywhere in the world. There are only key states that can produce this type of energy. Also, it kills many fish that go through the pipes and die. This reduces the fish population and can put the environment out of balance and the ecosystem.
